Privacy Policy
How StickIt handles your data — what’s collected, what isn’t, and why.
Last updated: [set on launch]
In short: StickIt collects no personal data. Your notes live on your Mac and, if you enable iCloud, in your own iCloud account — never on a server I control. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Scope
This policy explains how the StickIt macOS app and this website handle information. StickIt is made by Andrii Mahda ("I", "me").
What the app stores
StickIt saves your notes on your Mac using Apple’s SwiftData framework. App settings and window positions are stored locally on each device and are never synced or transmitted.
iCloud sync
If iCloud is enabled for StickIt, your notes sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit (private database). They are stored under your Apple Account on Apple’s infrastructure, secured by keys held on your trusted devices. I cannot access, read, or retrieve your notes — by design, the private database is available only to you. You can turn syncing off at any time in System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud.
What I collect
Nothing. StickIt contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs, and it sends no data to me. This matches the "Data Not Collected" declaration on the app’s App Store privacy label.
Apple Intelligence (Writing Tools)
If you use Writing Tools inside a note, the text you select is processed by Apple — on your device or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute — under Apple’s privacy terms. I never receive that text. Writing Tools are optional and run only when you invoke them.
Network connections
The app communicates only with Apple services: iCloud / CloudKit (when sync is on), Apple Intelligence (when you use Writing Tools), and the App Store (for updates). It does not connect to any server I operate.
This website
The site is served by a third-party static host. Like most websites, the host may keep standard technical request logs (such as IP address, timestamp, and browser type) for security and reliability. I add no analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.
Your control over your data
Because I hold none of your data, there is nothing for you to request, correct, or delete from me. You stay in full control: delete a note to remove it from your devices and iCloud, turn iCloud sync off in System Settings, or remove the app. Data stored in iCloud is governed by your Apple Account and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
StickIt is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
